Blending American heritage, appreciation for classic design, and lasting quality are the three main values that imogene + willie and Birdwell share. When we were asked to participate in the celebration of their 15th Anniversary, we signed up immediately. We are honored to be among the first partners in this 15 partner collaboration series of American makers celebrating imogene + willie ‘s birthday. We made a limited edition Surfnyl 300 boardshort right in Orange County, California using their camo pattern overprinted on our signature retro gold fabric. We finished it with a heavy wash, cotton shoelace drawstring, and cotton stamped collaboration labels. While touring their factory, I was so impressed with the craft of their t shirt production I asked if we could make a bootleg Birdie t shirt to go with the boardshort. They knocked it out of the park and I think the two pieces together make the ultimate combo.
