? Estate Tax Exemption and Annual Exclusion Get a Boost for 2025! ? The Internal Revenue Service announced an increase in the basic exclusion from federal estate and gift taxes for the upcoming year.?Effective January 1, 2025, the basic exclusion will rise to $13,990,000, a $380,000 increase from the current year.?For married couples, the combined exemption will be $27,980,000.?Additionally, the gift tax annual exclusion amount has increased to $19,000 for 2025, an increase of $1,000.? ? But here's the catch:?This exemption was doubled under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which is set to expire on December 31, 2025.?Without legislative action, the exemption will be cut in half beginning January 1, 2026.?The clock is ticking!?You have just over 14 months to act and take advantage of this golden opportunity to maximize your estate's value while minimizing potential tax liabilities. ? #birchstonemoore #estateplanning #taxtips #taxlaw #TCJA #wealthpreservation #financialplanning
