?? Scholarship Opportunity: Attend the 2025 HSUS Animal Care Expo in Las Vegas! ?? Do you identify as a Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color (BIPOC) individual passionate about animal well-being? We are excited to offer scholarships for the 2025 HSUS Expo to help historically marginalized voices who are connected to animals - through work, volunteer, or community. This is an opportunity to learn, grow, and network at the HSUS Animal Care Expo 2025 in Las Vegas! Our goal is to offer first-of-its-kind scholarships to cover costs that have historically been a barrier for attendance for marginalized voices. Our intent is for scholarship funding to cover items including (but not limited to) registration fees, travel costs, and lodging. This opportunity is open to all self-identified BIPOC in the field and scholarships will be prioritized based on the following considerations: ? Individuals from historically marginalized BIPOC communities (e.g., Black, Indigenous, trans, non-binary, or queer folks), ? Entry-level staff, direct animal care staff or those in non-managerial roles in animal welfare, ? First-time Expo attendees, regardless of your role, ? And/or aspiring animal welfare advocates volunteering or not currently employed in the field ?? Applications close December 23, 2024. ?? This meeting will introduce our three sub-committees and detail how you can get involved. ?? Sub-Committees Overview: Structure, Culture, and Equity - Shape our structure, mission and values (already in progress) Harm Repair, Healing Justice, and Community Care - Develop and implement processes for these Community of Care frameworks Engagement and Outreach - Boost our communications, engagement and outreach efforts ??
