At Bioversity, we’re training the next generation of life sciences professionals—and our employer partners play a crucial role in that mission. Foundation Medicine is one of many companies helping to shape our workforce training programs through curriculum development, volunteering, and hiring our graduates. Hear from two Bioversity alumni about their journey to Foundation Medicine and how this partnership is opening doors to biotech careers. ?? Zach Stanley Ross Marshall

Introducing, Zakiya Samuel, one of Bioversity's newest students! ?? Tell us about yourself - what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and anything else you want to share. Before joining Bioversity, I worked as a local truck driver. I grew up in Boston, but my family and I are originally from Belize. Outside of work, I love traveling, experiencing new things, and trying different foods. What do you expect from this program, both in terms of skill development and personal growth? I want to build confidence in the interview process, refine my transferable skills, and improve my resume. I also want to learn more about lab environments and gain hands-on lab experience. Life science employers: this cohort graduates this Thursday! We encourage you to consider welcoming these graduates on your team. Our program vets all students and then helps them develop cutting-edge skills from Bioversity to enrich your organization. While this cohort is still in progress, check out some of our recent graduates: https://lnkd.in/egMrzRcV Zach Stanley Ross Marshall

Introducing, Nazli P., one of the newest members of Bioversity! ?? Tell us about yourself - what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and anything else you want to share. I am currently a student at Quincy College, majoring in Biology. My mom works, and my siblings have both moved out, making me the youngest of three! I’m originally from New York, where I was born and raised, but I moved to Massachusetts before I turned 15. My mom is from the Dominican Republic, and my dad is from Pakistan, so I’m Dominican-Pakistani, though I only speak Spanish and English. Why did you choose Bioversity? What specific goals or aspirations do you hope to achieve through your participation? I initially wanted to be an Art teacher but lost interest after studying education. I then considered becoming a pediatrician to work with kids, but the prospect of medical school and years of debt didn’t appeal to me. Staying as a biology major, I realized I still wanted to help people and make a difference without the stress of med school. I chose Bioversity to learn more about life sciences, build connections, and gain experience. My goal is to grow within the field and hopefully secure a job that aligns with my future aspirations. Life science employers: this cohort graduates on March 6!?? ? We encourage you to consider welcoming these graduates on your team. Our program vets all students and then helps them develop cutting-edge skills from Bioversity to enrich your organization. While this cohort is still in progress, check out some of our recent graduates: https://lnkd.in/egMrzRcV?? ? Zach Stanley Ross Marshall?

Introducing, Suber Ali, one of Bioversity's newest students! ?? Tell us about yourself - what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and anything else you want to share. I worked part-time as a delivery driver for Uber. My parents are immigrants from Somalia who first came to Canada before moving to America in search of a better future. I was born in Canada but grew up in Everett, MA. After living there until the age of 10, my parents wanted me to study and spend time in Cairo, Egypt. They have done so much for me, and I am forever indebted to them. I believe it is my duty to succeed and do my best to make them proud. Why did you choose Bioversity? What specific goals or aspirations do you hope to achieve through your participation? I chose Bioversity because I want to gain knowledge and enter the life sciences workforce. My goals are to develop professionally, enhance my communication and teamwork skills, and build meaningful connections with both staff and fellow students. Life science employers: this cohort graduates on March 6! We encourage you to consider welcoming these graduates on your team. Our program vets all students and then helps them develop cutting-edge skills from Bioversity to enrich your organization.
