I am excited to share that I have been placed 3rd in the first National VYT competition hosted by University of Johannesburg ???? It was an honour to compete and engage with the top talented students from University of Johannesburg, North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit and University of Pretoria who were a delight. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to express my passion for food safety and science communication along with having engaging conversations with everyone who attended. A special thank you to Ms Ncuthukazi and Ms Portia for organizing and transporting us on behalf of the University of Pretoria. Also to the University of Johannesburg organizing committee, Dr Shandre Pillay and Prof Penny Govender who hosted the competition. To the judges, Dr Richard Devey, Dr Heather Goode, Mr Zander Janse van Rensburg and Dr Nazira Hoosen for testing our knowledge on the podium, making the prizes worth it.
