Last week, BIO’s President & CEO, John F. Crowley, and biotech leaders from BeiGene, Biogen, Eisai US, Organon, Strand Therapeutics, Travere Therapeutics, and VarmX had an impactful trip to Tokyo, strengthening U.S.-Japan biotech ties. The delegation met with industry leaders, including sister association, the Japan Bioindustry Association, as well as government officials and patient advocates, to discuss collaboration, biotech growth and market access issues. A key highlight was the patient roundtable, where the group explored how to better involve patients in the drug development and process. https://lnkd.in/ezGmYS5t

Today, we’re proud to announce the release of a new first-of-its-kind report quantifying the economic impact of the U.S. bioeconomy. Produced in partnership with Kearney, the report reveals that this rapidly expanding sector—spanning plant and animal biotechnology as well as biobased products—drives $210 billion in direct economic impact and $830 billion in total economic benefits while supporting 430,000 jobs across the country.
