    Stress monitoring and alerts are the new thing with wearables, but they're missing an important piece of the puzzle. While these devices are getting better at notifying us of rising stress levels—as if we hadn't already felt the pressure mounting—they often leave us hanging when it comes to identifying the source of this stress. Is the cause emotional, stemming from work or personal issues, or is it physical, a result of pushing our bodies too hard? And why does this matter? Because the solution to mitigating stress significantly differs based on its root cause. Imagine your wearable signals a stress alert (thanks for the heads-up!), yet it doesn't clarify whether it's the endless meetings or your intense workout routine causing this spike. This ambiguity forces us into a guessing game—meditation or a day off from the gym? Without the ability to differentiate between emotional and physical stress, most wearables send us off navigating a complex maze without a map, complicating our efforts to find the right stress-relief strategy.     When it comes to improving sleep and recovery, the checklist can feel endless. But instead of trying to do everything at once, focus on one!
