Future Quest 2024 was an incredible event hosted by Dane County School Consortium! We partnered with Promega Corporation to introduce students to exciting careers in biotechnology through hands-on activities and inspiring conversations. Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

We had an amazing time at Wisconsin Science Festival last week! The BTC Institute, in collaboration with Promega Corporation , hosted a hands-on booth to engage visitors in the fascinating world of #biotechnology. This year's festival theme was #agriculture, so we embraced it with our interactive activity,??????? ???????? ?????? ??????: ?????? ???? ?????????? ????? ???????? ???? ????? ?????????????? ??????. Participants were tasked with solving a?mix-up at the fair?- three?farmers’?pigs?got mixed up and we?couldn't tell them apart! Thanks to prior genotype records, #DNA extraction from each pig's chew rope, #PCR, and DNA sequencing, each pig was able to go home with the right farmer. Participants pipetted, matched sequences, and made a DNA bracelet. Over 1,000 attendees enjoyed the Discovery Expo, with many stopping by our booth to join in the fun and discover how biotechnology can help solve real-world problems in agriculture! We are proud to inspire curiosity and show the power of #science in everyday life. Last week, we concluded two weeks of our Camp Biotech programs for high school students. ???????? ?????????????? ??: ?????? ?????????????? ???? ?????? & ???????? ?????????????? ????: ?????? ?????????????? ???? ?????????????? offered students hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology and biotechnology. Participants were able to extract DNA, performing PCR, and explore genetic engineering techniques such as CRISPR. The students also had the opportunity to design protein expression experiments with chromogenic proteins. A big thank you to our dedicated instructors and inspiring guest speakers who made these camps a success!
