    Bringing Connected Intelligence Underwater: Hydronet and Liquid Robotics Integration Demo We’re thrilled to announce a groundbreaking integration between HydroNet’s AI-powered underwater mesh networking and Liquid Robotics' Wave Glider—pushing the boundaries of autonomous ocean systems and intelligent underwater sensing. This integration successfully created a multi-kilometer adaptive mesh network between three Wave Gliders and an MIT SeaBeaver II UUV, running the MIT MOOS-IvP open-source autonomy stack.? The devices were all equipped with the Hydronet software-defined modem and edge platform (SDME), enabling high-performance underwater communication and distributed intelligence. Hydronet’s HydroMesh technology facilitated remote command, control, and telemetry across all four vehicles, relaying data through LEO satellites via Starlink. The Hydronet Dashboard provided a real-time monitoring, visualization, and mission command interface.     ?? Exciting News! ?? We are thrilled to announce the publication of our latest paper, “A Novel Closed-Loop Electrical Brain Stimulation Device Featuring Wireless Low-Energy Ultrasound Power and Communication.” Our study demonstrates the feasibility of Bionet Sonar's groundbreaking prototype electrical neuromodulation system that utilizes an energy-efficient ultrasound-based mechanism for communication, data transmission, and recharging. At Bionet Sonar, we developed closed-loop deep brain stimulation (DBS) prototypes incorporating ultrasonic wideband (UsWB) communication technology and miniaturized custom electronics. These devices were tested in vivo, with precise targeting confirmed through preoperative MRI and postoperative CT scans. We rigorously tested the DBS systems across various clinical settings to assess their performance in terms of stimulation, communication, reprogramming, and recharging. The results highlight the clinical relevance of Bionet’s system, showcasing its potential for intelligent closed-loop stimulation, remote system monitoring, and optimization. The UsWB technology significantly enhances energy efficiency, enabling device miniaturization and reducing storage requirements. This innovation can serve as a power/data gateway to interconnect the intrabody network with the Internet of Medical Things, paving the way for advanced medical technologies that can transform patient care. As HydroNet it was genuinely inspiring to stand among such innovative companies and individuals committed to pushing the boundaries of the maritime industry. Participating alongside our fellow start-ups and scale-ups, including HydroNet and engaging with esteemed partners and stakeholders provided us with invaluable connections and insights. The program highlighted the transformative potential of our technology and reinforced the importance of collaborative ecosystems in driving sustainable progress. It also showcased how vital HydroNet’s mission is—"to bring the internet underwater to enable the digital transformation of ocean industries, thereby accelerating the growth of the blue economy."     The PortXL Grand Finale 2023 took place on December 7th at the RDM Loft in Rotterdam. It was an uplifting, meaningful event, bringing together innovators, partners, mentors, trainers?and stakeholders to celebrate the conclusion of our 2023 Start-up Accelerator Program. Vivienne de Leeuw, CFO of Lead Partner Port of Rotterdam, said: “Our port has a long tradition of applying pioneering technologies and developing innovative solutions in the port’s operations … We firmly believe it’s not size, but rather quality that takes precedence when preparing for the future. We want to be the most sustainable port in the world. … Actively seeking cooperation, staying connected to the market, creates a climate in which innovation is encouraged and that is why PortXL is so important to us.” Highlights from the event: -> Our 2023 start-ups and scale-ups, Fuel Essence | Sustainable Motion, GT Green Technologies, HydroNet, Lobster Robotics, Medeina Engineering, Mythos AI, SHM Next, and Voyex, showcased their solutions for the maritime industry.
