In 2012, Bill suffered a stroke that left him unable to move the right side of his body, speak, or remember much of his life before. Despite the odds, Bill was determined to regain his mobility. His perseverance helped him regain his memory and the ability to speak, but he was still wheelchair-bound. Desperate to be an active father, Bill was introduced to the L300 Go® and H200®. Over the years, Bill has prioritized his physical therapy, and with the help of the devices, he has progressed from a wheelchair to walking independently and restored movement in his right hand. Thanks to his perseverance, Bill is managing a local gas station and loves to golf, bowl, and landscape for his local church. Niyah is a 19-year-old who spent three weeks in the ICU following a gunshot wound before going to Sheltering Arms Institute for inpatient & outpatient rehabilitation. During her sessions, she used various technologies, including the Vector! Watch her inspiring video below.
Meet Niyah, a 19-year-old who’s turning her challenges into triumphs. After a gunshot wound caused her to spend 3 weeks in the ICU last summer, she came to Sheltering Arms Institute for inpatient & outpatient physical rehab. Throughout her journey, Niyah used a number of our advanced rehabilitation technologies like the Hocoma Andago and the Bioness Medical, Inc. Vector bodyweight support systems. However, Niyah says her favorite technology is the Ekso Bionics robotic exoskeleton. “[The exoskeleton] was my favorite because it gave me the sensation of walking again,” Niyah said. From the beginning of her physical rehab journey, Niyah’s goals have been to get stronger and return to walking. With the unwavering support of her therapists, who she says know how to push her during each session, she continues to make incredible strides… today, walking with just crutches! Rob Meier, one of our amazing Clinical Territory Managers, recently had the opportunity to spend the day at Chatham University’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy class to discuss our FES products – specifically the impact the H200 can have on a person's mobility by helping to improve hand function. Check out his post below to learn more and see photos from the event!
Clinical Territory Manager for Bioness specializing in the use of functional electrical stimulation (FES) products to improve patient functional mobility and enhance their quality of life.
Amazing day educating Chatham University’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy class on #Bioness FES Technology. It was inspiring to see these students critically think utilizing #H200 developing treatment ideas to implement with their future patients in the field. A big thank you to the staff of Chatham’s OTD’s staff for inviting me to be a guest lecturer today. It was an amazing experience and I am looking forward to coming back next year!

Nothing can stop Wendy from working on her rehabilitation at Encompass Health of Cape Coral! Check out this great video shared by Christopher Meisse to see how the Vector is playing a role in her mobility journey. Keep up the amazing work, Wendy!
Wendy came to Encompass health of Cape Coral as a result of Neurological issues that left her unable to walk and perform ADLs. Wendy utilized the technology has to offer including our Vector system that allowed her body to be offloaded so she can walk again and retrain her muscles to function. Wendy worked tirelessly and often times came down to the gym for extra therapy to further improve her mobility. With her skilled therapy team Wendy was able to complete her ADLs on her own and ambulate with a cane so she could return home. Wendy deserves recognition for the hard work she put in each day to achieve her goals and be a true Success Story.

Geri, a mom of two and a nurse from Kentucky, found herself struggling with her mobility after experiencing numerous ACL and meniscus tears from playing sports with her children. Determined to get better and remain active with her kids, Geri visited Dr. Austin Stone, from UK HealthCare, who recommended she try the L360 to improve her mobility. After being one of the first people in the country to try this new electrical stimulation technology, Geri is thrilled to be active with her kids again. Thanks to her device, she can once again enjoy spending her free time playing football, basketball, hiking, and more with her family. You are leaving Bioness’ page.
