?? EH&S Velociraptors in Training! ?? This Halloween, the BioLabs San Diego team went full prehistoric with a costume that was equal parts fierce and fun. As EH&S Velociraptors in training, we embraced our inner dinos and took on the challenge of channeling our ferocious spirit to maintain top-notch safety protocols in the lab. While Velociraptors are known for their speed and intelligence, we’ve got them beat when it comes to commitment to Environmental, Health, and Safety! We're tackling safety hazards with the same intensity as these creatures stalk their prey—only this time, the only thing we’re chasing is a safer, more compliant lab environment. ???? These sessions have been invaluable in helping our members better understand the advanced equipment we have onsite and how to leverage it for greater scientific impact. ?? Protein Thermal Shift Seminar In our first session, Nathan Zuzow led an excellent discussion on #ProteinThermalShift (PTS) technology, covering everything from the theory behind it to experimental setup and data analysis using the #QuantStudioqPCR instruments. It was a great opportunity for members to dive deep into PTS applications, workflow, and how to maximize results with the Protein Thermal Shift Software. ?? Automated Sample Preparation Solutions In the second session, Christian Kis explored the #KingFisher instrument, focusing on how automated sample preparation can enhance lab efficiency and accuracy. From DNA and RNA to proteins and cells, this discussion showed us how automation can streamline workflows and improve productivity across various applications. The real-world case studies were particularly helpful, and the Q&A session gave everyone a chance to interact directly with experts in the field.
