Do you know a high school student or teacher passionate about research or engineering projects related to bioscience?or even entrepreneurship on these topics? Heartland Bio-Innovation Challenge is a great fit for them. It is a science fair open to Kansas and Missouri high school students ready to challenge themselves with poster presentations at the Expo and entrepreneurial pitches at the Pitch Competition. Winners will get a cash prize and an invitation to present at Innovation Festival. Applications are only open for another week. Grateful for the opportunity to spend the day at the #Kansas State Capitol with BioKansas (AdAstra BIO) and one of our incredible board members, Nick Love, MD, MBA of Love Lifesciences INC. We had productive conversations with legislators about the critical role science and innovation play in driving Kansas' economy. From workforce development to research funding and tax credit increases, it’s clear that a strong life sciences ecosystem benefits everyone in our state. These discussions were a reminder of how important it is for our industry to stay engaged in policy conversations — advocating for the resources and support needed to fuel scientific discovery, entrepreneurship, and growth here in Kansas.
