On #WorldWildlifeDay, Achim Steiner, the Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), mentioned the Tiger Landscape Investment Fund, a financial tool designed for tiger conservation. ??? “Together with our many partners, UNDP is helping countries and communities harness cutting-edge financial solutions to protect wildlife and their habitats. For instance, the Tiger Landscape Investment Fund channels resources to safeguard tiger habitats in countries like Malaysia while benefiting local communities,” says Achim Steiner. The Tiger Landscape Investment Fund was first presented at the Tiger Landscapes conference in #Bhutan last year. The conference concluded with the commitment to mobilize US$1 billion in new funding over the next ten years to support tiger conservation initiatives.
