The Future of Biofabricate: What’s Next? After much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the 2025 Biofabricate Paris Summit. Last year’s event was our most impactful yet, with incredible feedback from startups, brands, and investors. We had every expectation that 2025 would follow suit—but the landscape has shifted. Funding challenges are affecting innovators across sectors, and community calls for financial support have increased significantly. These factors have impacted exhibit commitments and ticket demand, making our current summit model unsustainable. We remain committed to the spirit of connection that has defined the Biofabricate Summit for over a decade. As we pause to reassess our approach, we are exploring ideas for more accessible events that return us to our roots, span a wider array of sectors, and lower the barriers to entry. While we regroup and reimagine our next decade, we remain as dedicated as ever to evolving, educating, and leading at the fore-front of bioinnovation. Have ideas for what you'd love to see next? Let us know!? Thank you for your continued support. Suzanne & The Biofabricate Team #BiofabricateSummit #Biofabricate #BiofabEvents #BiofabParisSummit

This week sees a long awaited launch in biofabrication. The Citizens of Humanity Group has unveiled its first denim collection dyed with Pili Bio's indigo dye, a biotech breakthrough in sustainable dyeing technology. By replacing traditional, resource-intensive dyeing methods, this innovation aims to reduces CO2 emissions by 50% and significantly reduces toxic chemical—setting a new standard for eco-friendly denim. After the challenges of 2024, seeing partnerships like this make their way into commercial collections is a promising start to 2025. The fashion industry has the potential to drive systemic change, and launches like these signal the shift toward a responsible future defined by clean chemistry and responsible material choices. The collection, featuring Pili’s fermented Eco-Indigo and dyed by Turkish denim producer Orta Anadolu, debuts today in the Spring 2025 lines from Citizens of Humanity and Agolde, available now on NET-A-PORTER.
