Our Founder/CEO, Jerah Siegal was selected to give a TED Talk at Rowan University!! Check it out in person or online on March 28th.
I am excited and honored to be selected by Rowan University's University Innovation Fellows to give a TEDx Talk on March 28th on Rowan's campus. I am excited to talk about something that I think is becoming a huge issue for startups as the world of funding becomes more and more convoluted. My talk will be about navigating the path to funding and the role accelerator programs play in it. I am asking the question: Are accelerator programs a launchpad to startup success, or just another hurdle for entrepreneurs to jump through? Allow me to take you back to the year 2005 in Cambridge, MA. Y Combinator was born and launched its first cohort. They probably didn't know it at the time, but they have forever changed the way that early stage tech ventures get funding. Now there are over 8,000 accelerator programs worldwide and they almost feel like a necessity for most startups to get early stage funding or even be noticed by VCs. I know more and more founders who go through 2 or more accelerator programs. Accelerators and VCs are confusing. My goal is to provide a modern day roadmap for startups to help them navigate the world of early stage funding so that they don't have to struggle to figure it out like I did. Thank you to the University Innovation Fellows: Aiden Tahmazian, Victoria Van, Sapjah Zapotitla, and Elizabeth Pennington. Also thank you to Michael T. Dominik, Ph.D., Jessica Vattima, ?? Greg Payton, MS, and the whole Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. #startup #accelerator #tech #venturecapital #startupaccelerator #funding #tedtalk
