?? Key Insights on Strength Recovery After MPFL Reconstruction A recent study in IJSPT examined isokinetic knee strength recovery in youth following medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction (MPFLR). Researchers analyzed strength differences by age and sex, finding that: ? Males showed higher normalized knee extension strength and greater limb symmetry than females, particularly in late adolescence and young adulthood. ? Higher knee strength was linked to better patient-reported function, emphasizing the role of strength in rehabilitation success. These findings highlight the importance of tailored rehab strategies to promote strength symmetry, particularly for young female athletes. ?? Special thanks to Zwolski CM, Poston GR, Anthony LA, and colleagues for advancing our understanding of post-MPFLR recovery! ?? How do you address strength deficits in post-op rehab? Let’s discuss! ?? #RehabScience #MPFLR #KneeInjury #PhysicalTherapy
