I recently posted about receiving a Shark Industries - Dive Tablet 2 for work. Well recently, I’ve been out putting it through its paces on some ESA-Listed coral surveys here in Florida and I’m blown away with this device (see photo below). The ability to know exactly where you are within your site, to navigate effortlessly in space and time, and to electronically tag and map the coral species of interest will forever change the way I collect field data. Besides being more accurate and saving valuable time underwater, the ultimate benefit of this tool is in the way it saves and reports all the data collected on a dive. I can think of countless ways this integrated underwater computer/ GPS/camera will be able to assist my team in delivering an unmatched product to our clients. Looking back, I can think of dozens of projects I have worked on in the last decade where having this tool would have been a game changer. However, the future is now!
