First-Ever Screening of “The Best of Animayo: The Winners 2024” at Netflix We’re thrilled to announce that, for the first time ever, Animayo brought its award-winning selection, The Best of Animayo: The Winners 2024, to Netflix! This landmark event was hosted at Netflix Animation headquarters in Burbank, with an additional online screening exclusively for their remote teams. The screening featured two of this year’s celebrated directors: Pablo Leon (Remember Us) and Toby Cochran Cochran (Luki & The Lights), who introduced their award-winning shorts. Additionally, I proudly represented the directors of In the Shadow of the Cypress, Hossein Molayemi and *Shirin Sohani. Following the screenings, we held an engaging Q&A session, moderated by our dear friend Marco Regina storyboard artist at Netflix. Marco guided the conversation with insightful questions and facilitated a lively discussion with the artists. We couldn’t be more excited to have finally brought our festival to Netflix, sharing the very best of international animation with their incredibly talented teams. A heartfelt thank you to Netflix for the warm welcome and to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable event, especially Shaili Ball, Kelly Small, and Marina Soto. Whew, what a fun whirlwind of a week! Grateful to have my team rep LUKi & the Lights at four different Festivals and EXCITED to share that we won Best Audience award at Indy Shorts!! ?? ?? Ludwick John, Mal Day, and Justin McCrea shared stories about production at Heartland Indy Shorts. ???? Marlem Jiménez & Joel Velasco repped in Guanajuato, Mexico. ?? Lea Jacqueline Evans, Daniel and Ken Music attended packed and sold-out shows at Siggraph! ?? I attended my very first Comic-Con and presented LUKi twice in one day! Audiences shared they did not expect to go to a film festival at Comic-Con and be crying about a charming robot. ?? This was a huge win for all of us on team LUKi and doing this grassroots style has been very challenging but I'm learning tons and very grateful to everyone involved. ?? We will be back at the Chinese Theater Aug. 12th! (post coming next week :P) and then in Burbank in September! Would love to see some friends at those here in LA! ??
