Christmas has officially landed in Biggin Hill! ?? We’re proud to sponsor our local Christmas lights again this year. The switch-on event, which included performances from local school choirs, took place on Saturday at the New Life Church. Our mascot, Captain Merlin, was delighted to be this year’s special guest and share the festive magic by switching on the lights for our local community. Representatives of London Biggin Hill Airport were honoured to attend and support this year’s Scotty’s Ball, the annual fundraising dinner that raises important funds for one of our corporate charity partners, Scotty's Little Soldiers. Scotty’s is currently providing specialised bereavement support to over 700 children and young people who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Forces. Every penny raised helps them continue this life-changing work for years to come. The evening was a powerful reminder of the importance of community and giving back, and we’re proud to stand with Scotty’s in their mission to make a real, lasting impact. Last week, we were delighted to support the Above & Beyond Bromley Business Awards (The ABBBAs) – an event that celebrates the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit in the London Borough of Bromley. During a small ceremony, our Chief Executive Officer and retired RAF Wing Commander, David Winstanley MA FRAeS, laid a wreath at the Strongest Link Garden – our commemorative space of reflection. Yesterday, on Remembrance Sunday, our Fire Station Managers, Vanessa Miles and Chris Thornton (GIFireE) CFPA E Dip TC, laid wreaths at St George’s RAF Chapel of Remembrance and the War Memorial in Biggin Hill village too. We honour and remember all those who have lost their lives in conflicts around the world. On National STEM Day, we’re proud to showcase our dedicated work in encouraging young people to explore their interests in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths. Since 2022, more than 100 participants have come through our Futures Week and work experience programmes. These initiatives aim to unlock potential and provide an invaluable stepping-stone between education and starting a career. But it doesn’t end there!
