**Employee Spotlight: Michelle Hamlin** Meet Michelle Hamlin, our dedicated Warehouse Operations Specialist at BIGGBY? COFFEE! Michelle plays a crucial role in keeping our warehouse running smoothly, ensuring that our coffee and merchandise inventory is well-managed and orders are fulfilled with precision. Michelle oversees daily warehouse operations, manages coffee stock levels, and ensures that all orders are processed accurately and efficiently. She also collaborates with both internal teams and external vendors to bring exciting merchandise and premium products to our BIGGBY? community. Michelle’s attention to detail and commitment to efficiency help ensure that BIGGBY? COFFEE delivers an exceptional experience. Her behind-the-scenes work keeps everything running seamlessly, making her an invaluable part of our team! Coffee: The end of an era. It began in 2022 when consumption exceeded supply. There was no immediate response as there was plenty of reserves on hand in both Brazil and Vietnam. But shortfalls in production continued as the impact of climate change ravaged production in the same two countries that deforested the most, Brazil and Vietnam, combined they supply 50% of the worlds coffee. They were both the cause and effect of the shortfalls. Their 'produce it as cheap as possible' approach, drove other coffee producers off their farms in other coffee producing countries, lowering alternative worldwide production. We also have a worldwide 'coffee picker' shortage, that has driven labor up 100%, while only 10% show up, leaving much coffee unpicked. Cost of inputs like fertilizers have gone up since the Ukraine War. Logistics is getting worse, not better since COVID, increasing risk. Because of low prices soil biome management has disappeared, and the ravages of petrochemicals has accelerated soil desertification of agricultural fields, reducing yields. Major worldwide and domestic green coffee exporters collapsed and have gone bankrupt. Leaving contracts unfulfilled. For those exporters left, their buying power has been diminished by half today, and could be as much as a third, by the end of this buying cycle. Risk management has gone up with the threat of tariffs on any country at any time, (Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia have all been on the chopping block). For all these reasons and more, green coffee reached an all time new high of $413 on 7th of February, 2025. It won't stop there. $550 seems like a number people are comfortable with, but $750 is not out of the question. $1,000 is a possibility. You doubt that? Look at cocoa a year and a half ago https://lnkd.in/gaKb4JDM After 200 years of a Buyers Market, it is officially a Sellers Market. Panic has finally shown up, prices will continue to rise. There are only two things that can stop it; 1. Brazil and Vietnam have a good yield year (that is not expected until August 2026.) 2. There is enough demand-destruction in consuming countries because of the price increases. Either or both are necessary for supply to exceed demand again, and prices to drop to a new floor. BIGGBY COFFEE will be fine, we have understood that this moment was inevitable. Our model will not only survive, but flourish. Hint, you have to deeply care about your supply chain and the people in it, from producer to end user. We will be 30 yrs in March. 4 coffee waves, the financial crisis of 08, COVID, and multiple competititors. We always persevere. There has been a lot of b*ll sh*t in this coffee industry that has needed to go, and now it will, this will support that demand destruction that we need for prices to stabalize Subsistence coffee farmers in producing countries have been subsidizing the demand growth in consuming countries with below cost pricing. That has ended. A new era.. More thoughts in the comment section.

We changed up our Never Eat Alone to a coffee chat this month and BIGGBY COFFEE McHenry did not disappoint! . It was spacious inside and offered great seating for group chats and conversations!
