    I had the opportunity to attend the ASI (Advertising Specialty Institute) trade show in Chicago. With hundreds of suppliers showing a mind-blowing range of products—from custom apparel to high-tech gadgets to eco-friendly solutions—the event highlighted the size and diversity of the promotional products industry. It was exciting to see all the latest innovations and insights that Big Frey will be sharing with its clients soon. ???????? My absolute favorite part of the event was exploring all of the products there was to offer. I loved learning about the latest market trends, endless marketing tactics, and strategies for employee or client engagement. This comprehensive view of the promotional products industry gave me valuable exposure into how brands can leverage these products to create lasting impressions. It was fascinating to see the emphasis on personalization and sustainability, with many suppliers showcasing products that can be customized with unique logos, messages, or even individual names. The suppliers were eager to discuss how their offerings could be tailored to meet specific needs, making it clear that the possibilities in this industry are endless.? ???????? With this post, my summer internship has come to an end. Immersing myself in the promotional products industry has been such an amazing professional experience, growing my skills in market research, social media management, data analysis, product sourcing, graphic design, and so much more. I am beyond grateful for this internship opportunity; I have had an incredible summer here at Big Frey!

    This past week, I immersed myself into our comprehensive business cycle, visiting some manufacturers, suppliers, fulfillment partners, and clients. One of the highlights was a tour of Molson Coors, one of Big Frey’s clients. I was so impressed by the scale of their operations. Witnessing their extensive manufacturing, distribution, and transportation processes up close provided a deep appreciation for the complexity and efficiency of such a large company in a major industry. During our meeting regarding their engagement initiative program for interns receiving full-time offers, I got to hear all about Big Frey’s strategies behind swag kits, determining best products to put in them, themes, when to send them, and how they can significantly impact a company’s recruitment and retention strategies.

    The Big Frey focus group results are almost here, which means I have a lot to report back on! Helping spearhead the annual summer focus group was an incredible experience that taught me all about market research and data analysis. My week began with preparation, sorting through all of the promotional products ordered for the focus group to ensure that everything was organized and prepared. I had no idea that there could be so much swag! Then, I learned how critical it is to phrase questions appropriately to avoid confusion and gather clear, actionable data for reporting. After the focus group, I sorted and analyzed all the data collected. It was extremely interesting to not only see the results come together, but to understand the opinions, perspectives, and trends of this essential market research.     This week at Big Frey, I learned all about customer relationship management (CRM) databases. Prior to this week, I never understood how companies kept track of every past, current and potential client…keeping up relationships with thousands of individuals and their respective orders sounded practically impossible! Yet through my work with Big Frey’s CRM database, I learned its crucial role in managing customer relations and all the numerous steps in each of Big Frey’s projects. I discovered how to navigate the CRM and assisted the sales team with entering new contacts and companies for efficiency – it is pretty impressive that there are CRM databases specifically for the promotional products industry!

    This past week at Big Frey, I learned the power of pre-marketing for a trade show. Outreach to conference attendees via email and LinkedIn sparked meaningful connections, driving significant traffic to our booth. These initiatives also helped build more awareness and establish authentic relationships with new contacts within the industry. Additionally, I can’t forget about learning how to set-up a pop-up retractable banner…it is definitely harder than it looks!
