NOW HIRING FOR A LINEMAN POSITION Lineman Job #IRC87893 Location – Henderson, KY This position will climb transmission wood and steel poles and steel towers. Operate service trucks, cranes, digger derricks, and bucket trucks. Operate chainsaws, drills and other power tools. Manually dig with a shovel. Apply wood preservative chemicals. Operate mobile computers for mapping system and facilities maintenance. Qualifications include three years’ overhead lineman experience, Class A commercial driver’s license with clean driving record, certified in glove and hot stick work on energized lines. Ability to lift/carry 75 pounds, perform heavy physical work and walk long distances over rough terrain. Have basic electrical training and ability to read blueprints and instruction manuals. Work outside in inclement weather day or night. Work overtime as required and report for emergency call in work anytime. Minimum 3 years of related experience and a minimum of 620 hours (6 months) of industrial electricity education from a state approved industrial vocational school or a recognized accredited technical school. In addition, an employee must already have or receive a CDL license and State of Kentucky Pesticide applicators license within 6 months of accepting the job as Lineman. Travel within service area, out of town overnight, and overtime work is required. Reside within 35 miles of the workplace within 12 months. This week, Wilson Station welcomed the employees of Kenergy Corp for a behind-the-scenes tour of how power is made for western Kentucky. Kenergy is one of three electric cooperatives that own Big Rivers. Here's how the system works - Big Rivers' power plants generate safe and reliable energy for the three cooperatives, and Kenergy delivers the electricity to more than 59,000 homes and businesses. While cooperatives, like Kenergy, are experts in providing electricity to people, an in-depth power plant tour helps build knowledge of how the energy production process starts. Wilson Station is a prime location for hosting tours and answering questions on how the Ohio County power plant generates 417 MW of valuable energy for our region. #cooperative #powerplant #energy #electricity #Kentucky

Welcome to Walk-a-Dog Wednesday! ?? During October, Big Rivers Headquarters employees are encouraged to take a break on Wednesdays to walk dogs at the Daviess County Animal Shelter. Big Rivers and Kenergy Corp were proud to be selected together as a finalist in this year's Beautify the Bluegrass campaign. Today, Kentucky Electric Cooperatives and Governor Andy Beshear hosted a short ceremony to recognize the five finalists and announce the winning project at the Kentucky State Capitol rotunda in Frankfort. While our project didn't take the top prize, we are so proud of the employees who donated their time to beautify a part of the community where they live and work. Back in July, Big Rivers, Kenergy, and Paric (a cooperative contractor) teamed up to provide landscaping for the new Habitat for Humanity Owensboro Daviess County Ms. Virginia’s Education & Training Center. The volunteer team planted trees and shrubs that will provide a natural barrier for the new building. The training center features a first-of-its-kind opportunity for new homeowners to learn maintenance skills. Started in 2017, Beautify the Bluegrass recognizes community members across the commonwealth for their efforts to improve public spaces.
