Congratulations to our very own Cory Kruse who earned titles in the recent 2024 National Championship that included both 5 stand National Champion and Fitasc National Champion! Additional titles include All Around Shotgun Nationals 3rd, American Field Sporting Nationals 3rd, Texas 5-Man State Team Nationals 2nd and Main Event ProClass 8th. Not to mention that earlier this year, Cory was the overall champion for the 8th time in the Texas State Championship. On behalf of the Big Easy Ranch team and membership, we are so proud of Cory and excited for his continued success!

Last week, the Big Easy Ranch Shoot Out Board Members, along with Big Easy Ranch owner Billy Brown and staff, proudly presented a check for $500,000 to MD Anderson Cancer Center Department of Immunology with funds raised solely from its Big Easy Ranch Shoot Out held this past spring. Sadly, cancer affects each one of us or someone we know and love. The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is one of the world’s most respected cancer centers devoted exclusively to patient care, research, education and prevention. MD Anderson provides groundbreaking research and innovative clinical care, offering leading-edge cancer therapies years before they become standard in the community. We could not think of a better recipient for this fundraising effort! The Big Easy Ranch Shoot Out launched in 2018 and has raised more than $1.8 million for MD Anderson Cancer Center. This highly regarded fundraising event is exclusive to Big Easy Ranch members & their guests with a 18-hole golf tournament on The Covey and a 10-station sporting clay tournament along with a raffle, wine dinner and live auction. The Dallas Morning News announced that The Covey at Big Easy Ranch was selected as the #1 NEW golf course in Texas and ranked 10th overall golf course in the state! This is a very prestigious honor, especially for a golf course that opened for play just 13 months ago and was reviewed for this rating just one month after opening. Owner Billy Brown shared his vision to be the #1 golf course in Texas and beyond and it is safe to say, he is off to a darn good start. Thank you to our amazing Members for your unwavering support throughout this process of opening The Covey. It is with great excitement that we introduce Travis Dale, CCM, as the newly appointed Clubhouse Manager at Big Easy Ranch. In this role, Travis will be responsible for overseeing the service and operations related to food and beverage across various areas of the ranch, including the Main Lodge, Eagle’s Nest, and Pool Pavilion. Additionally, he will manage club-sponsored Member events, as well as the operations and staff for lodging and housekeeping. ? Travis brings a wealth of experience from his recent roles as General Manager at Columbia Club in Indianapolis, General Manager at Shelton Vineyards in North Carolina, and four years as Assistant General Manager at The Clubs at Houston Oaks. His extensive background in the private club industry, coupled with certifications as a Certified Club Manager, Executive Chef, Level 1 Court of Master Sommeliers, and Level 2 with the Wines and Spirits Education Trust, positions him as a valuable asset. ? Known for his expertise in executing high-level events and delivering first-class dining service for Members, Travis is expected to elevate our dining, culinary program, and Member events to new heights. We are confident that his contributions will enhance our overall service and product offerings. ?
