During Suicide Prevention Week, Big-D emphasizes the importance of mental health in the construction industry. Our team members have been visiting business unit offices for Mental Health Training days, equipping associates with the tools to support those who may be struggling. Josh Lockhart, Director of HR Operations, shares: "It's no secret that the construction industry demands significant physical, mental, and emotional effort. This strain can often lead to stress and fatigue that may be hard to recognize. Antiquated mindsets and workplace cultures sometimes unknowingly promote avoidance in addressing these challenges, which can result in unhealthy coping habits. However, the evidence is clear: addressing these issues early and often leads to the best outcomes. At Big-D, we are fortunate to offer a variety of easily accessible, fully confidential resources for connecting with mental health professionals. Today, the HDJV team participated in an airport event to honor and remember the lives lost 23 years ago on 9/11. We stood united, alongside hundreds, to recognize the bravery of our first responders and to pay our respects. A moment of silence reminded us of the resilience and strength of our community. This week, we celebrated a major milestone with the topping out of the final steel beam for Phase 4! We're excited for the opening in fall 2026, marking the completion of The New SLC. Thanks to everyone involved in this achievement!
Steel beams. Permanent markers. Barbecue. Oh my! This week, SLC held a topping out ceremony to celebrate the placement of the final steel beam for Phase 4. As the fifth and final topping out for The New SLC, this celebration held special significance. When Phase 4 opens in fall 2026, it will signify the completion of The New SLC. We are filled with gratitude for the remarkable people who made this day possible. Celebrate with us and enjoy this short video!
