Our sister property, Johnny Morris' Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium, is doing amazing work in the name of conservation ??
Along the Atlantic shore of Jacksonville, Florida, 19 sea turtles were released back into their home ocean yesterday! Seven Kemp's ridleys and 12 loggerheads returned to the ocean, each a testament to the work done at the Sea Turtle Center here at Wonders of Wildlife in the name of conservation.???These turtles were brought to the Midwest's only care center just before Christmas and have been in care since, with WOW's team helping them recover in order to return to the wild.??Rehabilitating these turtles over the last several months has been an enormous effort from our veterinary technicians, animal care staff, and life support specialists. We are incredibly grateful for their work and our continued partnerships with organizations like New England Aquarium, NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and so many others who work toward the conservation of sea turtles and other endangered species.
