I’m truly proud and honored to be a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas mission and vision to help all children achieve success in life. As an only parent to my children, I’m grateful for those who invest the time to mentor, guide, and to support their growth - especially my father (Dr. Steven L. Hall) my mother, and my brothers as I wouldn’t be afforded the opportunity to live my life on Mission to Serve those around me without their support. So for those who ask “are you tired?” As I look into the face of a child, I’m energized and my hope is that we are all energized to help our Littles build futures! They are our FUTURE ?? Mentoring has positive effects on academics, self-confidence, and personal identity. When young people have people in their corner who can guide, encourage, and support them, they feel more empowered to put themselves on a brighter path. Studies have shown that Littles reported feeling better about themselves, having a lot or some confidence they will achieve their goals, believing that going to school and getting a good education is very important, and feeling that they are satisfied with their relationships with friends - all as a result of having a Big mentor.?
