There is a quiet 13 year old Little Brother who has been waiting for OVER A YEAR in Juneau! He has an interest in art, reading, video games, basketball, and kayaking. He would like a funny Big Brother who will help him to better in school. Is this you? Learn more and apply at www.bbbsak.org *photo is not of the Little actually waiting

Meet Marian. She joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska when she was 11 years old and was matched with her mentor, Big Sister Hannah. With Hannah’s guidance, Marian has grown more confident, learned new skills, and found a lifelong friend who supports her every step of the way. But there are still 154 kids waiting for a mentor like Hannah. Your donation can help change that. Donate today and give more kids the chance to thrive with the support of a mentor who believes in them. Make your impact today! ? https://lnkd.in/gNaStMDi

Meet Chloey Tláakw Sháa Cavanaugh, a talented Tlingit artist and entrepreneur hailing from áak’w Kwáan (Juneau, Alaska). Chloey is Was’ineidi Tax’Hit Eagle Wolf from Keex’ Kwaan (Kake, Alaska) and proudly carries her Irish and Polish heritage. She’s a dedicated sister, auntie to some, and uncle to others—a cherished role she fills with love and pride. With a background in marketing communications, Chloey is deeply passionate about community and cultural empowerment. She enjoys teaching workshops that inspire others, driven by her belief in mentorship as a powerful, traditional value. Having been a "Little" in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for 10 years, Chloey’s own mentor, Sarah, helped her transform uncertainty into confidence and taught her the value of a strong support network.

We’re honored to announce that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska has been awarded the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce's Gold Pan Award for Nonprofit Above & Beyond! This incredible recognition is a testament to the mentors, donors, and advocates who make life-changing connections for youth across Alaska possible. A huge congratulations to our fellow nominees, Alaska Behavioral Health and the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. Your work inspires us and strengthens our community in countless ways. The celebration was even more special alongside other amazing nominees like Shiloh Community Housing, Inc., and incredible partners like First National Bank Alaska, who help ensure Alaska’s youth have what they need to thrive. Special shoutouts to our fellow Gold Pan winners—Photo Emporium, owned by former Big Matthew Waliszek, and GCI Communication Corp., represented by former Big Brothers Big Sisters Board Member Anna Gould.
