Meet Chloey Tláakw Sháa Cavanaugh, a talented Tlingit artist and entrepreneur hailing from áak’w Kwáan (Juneau, Alaska). Chloey is Was’ineidi Tax’Hit Eagle Wolf from Keex’ Kwaan (Kake, Alaska) and proudly carries her Irish and Polish heritage. She’s a dedicated sister, auntie to some, and uncle to others—a cherished role she fills with love and pride. With a background in marketing communications, Chloey is deeply passionate about community and cultural empowerment. She enjoys teaching workshops that inspire others, driven by her belief in mentorship as a powerful, traditional value. Having been a "Little" in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for 10 years, Chloey’s own mentor, Sarah, helped her transform uncertainty into confidence and taught her the value of a strong support network.

This incredible recognition is a testament to the mentors, donors, and advocates who make life-changing connections for youth across Alaska possible. A huge congratulations to our fellow nominees, Alaska Behavioral Health and the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. Your work inspires us and strengthens our community in countless ways. The celebration was even more special alongside other amazing nominees like Shiloh Community Housing, Inc., and incredible partners like First National Bank Alaska, who help ensure Alaska’s youth have what they need to thrive. BBBS had fun learning from artist Tina Harness for this month's match activity of the art of Alaska Native skin sewing. They made beautiful key chains and took home more materials to craft. Thank you so much, Tina Harness!

Fairbanks matches got together for a pottery class with Raven City Clay Studio. Bigs and Littles had so much fun mading Monster Pinch Pots together, just in time for Halloween. Thanks Raven City Studio for hosting such a great event!
