BID?Needham has served residents in Needham, Newton, Dedham, Dover, Medfield, Sherborn, Wellesley, Westwood and other surrounding communities for more than 100 years. The hospital has been recognized by several organizations for quality and safety, including the Gold Seal of Approval? from The Joint Commission and a first-place Accountable Care Compass Award from the Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association (MHA). BID?Needham is part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, a new health care system that brings together academic medical centers and teaching hospitals, community and specialty hospitals, more than 4,000 physicians and 35,000 employees in a shared mission to expand access to great care and advance the science and practice of medicine through groundbreaking research and education.

  • Congratulations to Susan Teehan, Physical Therapist, on receiving the WE CARE Award! Susan has been an integral part of our hospital for nearly four years, consistently going above and beyond for her patients. Her dedication and compassion truly make a difference in the lives of those she treats. Way to go, Susan! Chris is a high school student from Waltham High School who has been employed as a Nursing Technician at BID Needham for just under a year. We appreciate all the work he contributes on a daily basis! One of Chris' nominators said: "I am nominating this employee because he is always willing to help anyone who asks or he offers to help. He is always on time and does his work right away. He always keeps himself busy on the floor. I strongly believe he deserves this because he is patient, attentive, and very hard working."

  • BID Needham celebrated National Women Physicians Day on February 3 to honor the contributions and achievements of female physicians in at our hospital. Medical Staff President Ghania El Akiki, MD, hosted a dinner for our medical staff to mark the day. Thank you to all the amazing doctors who work tirelessly to keep us healthy and safe. Your dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed.

  • Our MRI Technologists Katrina Marshall and Brad Reynolds were recently awarded a WE CARE Award! Katrina Marshall has been with the hospital for 4 years, while Brad Reynolds has been with the hospital for almost 7 years. We appreciate all the work they contribute on a daily basis! Their nominator said: "I would like to nominate BOTH Katrina and Brad (MRI/Radiology Dept) for a CARE award for the exceptional compassion and support they provided during my recent MRI. Katrina went out of her way to support me and provide a lending hand. Her empathy and openness helped ease my anxiety in a moment of deep uncertainty. When I returned for my MRI two weeks ago, Brad exemplified the same level of care. He was patient, kind, and attentive, ensuring I felt comfortable and that my concerns were heard."
