Under the motto “The Art of Entrepreneurship”, EY once again honored the best owner-managed companies in Germany this year. On November 7, 2024, the winners in the categories “Family Business”, “Innovation”, “Sustainability” and “Young Companies” were chosen from the 20 finalists at Motorwerk Berlin. Christian and Lars Engel, Managing Directors and owners of BHS Corrugated Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH, took part in the award ceremony as one of 5 finalists in the “Innovation” category. “Just making it to the final of the “Entrepreneur Of The Year Award” was a great success for us. We would like to share this with all our employees. A construction machinery manufacturer had difficulty retaining labor for a repetitive and ergonomically challenging job.? The requirement was to fill boxes with small components, bags of fasteners and gaskets to produce aftermarket rebuild kits. BHS Robotics conceptualized, built and delivered a fully automated end-to-end system from #boxforming to #palletizing for up to 10 unique #SKU’s. Our solution features an #automated box erector, vision-guided robotic pick and place using the #MechMind 3D AI Vision system, and #Motoman robots for precise subkit placement. A manufacturer of #packagingproducts was challenged with a high level of obsolescence in their legacy corrugated machinery. Aging equipment creates sustainability challenges due to lack of reliability and difficulties sourcing components. BHS Robotics provided a completely new controls system for this client including five (5) Rockwell Automation AC Vector drives, System PLC and Operator Interface panel. The solution is built and tested 100% in Chicago prior to onsite implementation and start-up for the client. This solution is referred to as our ProFacer product and is part of a portfolio of solutions offered to the corrugated industry under our Chicago Electric brand.
