"I love doing this because it's a way to protect the environment." Meet Stephen, Principal Environment, from our Yandi iron ore mine in Western Australia. Our dedicated Environment team is actively utilising eDNA monitoring to identify native species and reveal the area's rich biodiversity. In collaboration with Curtin University, we collect and analyse water samples to gain deeper insights into the natural ecosystems surrounding our operations. This innovative approach enables the rapid detection of multiple species, streamlining the process compared to traditional methods. #BHP #Biodiversity #Sustainability

We're taking action right now to support our suppliers and customers to decarbonise their operations. As one of the world's largest miners, we recognise the positive role we can play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in steelmaking. We know there is much more to be done, and we are focused on producing more of what the world needs in more sustainable ways. #decarbonisation #steelmaking #ironore

Demolition derby, bungee jumping, deep-sea diving... and mining. Tayla has a passion for them all. Tayla is currently a trainee maintenance associate at our Future Fit Academy in Perth, Western Australia. "I take great pride in being accepted and supported throughout this traineeship. Becoming a part of this company and industry has been a significant influence in my life over the past year, motivating me to become a better version of myself." "Copper growth in South Australia is really exciting!" Introducing Amelia, a graduate metallurgist at our Carrapateena operations in South Australia. Copper is a vital resource for power grids, household appliances, and a myriad of other applications. Global megatrends such as population growth, increasing living standards, and the shift towards sustainable energy are significantly boosting the demand for copper. At BHP, we are committed to responsibly producing the copper that the world requires from our three mines in South Australia. #Copper #BHP #SouthAustralia #FutureMade

What we produce matters. And how we seek to do it matters too. Our portfolio is focused on large, long-life assets in commodities that are set to benefit from the megatrends playing out around us. Population growth, urbanisation, rising living standards and the infrastructure of decarbonisation are expected to drive demand for steel, non-ferrous metals, and fertilisers for decades to come. #BHP #copper #ironore #potash

BHP is well positioned to continue to create value today, and for decades to come. At our recent AGM, Chairman Ken MacKenzie spoke about our portfolio of world class assets in attractive commodities, including potash. Our CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan, Canada, designed to maximise sustainability. Potash is key to our long-term ambitions as we remain focused on essential resources the world needs to develop and decarbonise. Link to read more in the comments. #BHP #AGM #Leadership

?? She's electric! ?? Meet Liz, our Electrical Supervisor who has been lighting up BHP for the past eight years. She plays a crucial role in constructing and maintaining power infrastructure on-site, and she takes pride in working with the first electric excavator now operational at our Yandi iron ore mine in the Pilbara, Western Australia. “Everything in your home, school, or workplace originates from either a farm or a mine. My job is to assist BHP in sourcing the essential materials we all rely on while striving towards the decarbonisation of our sites.” Fun Fact: The electric cable for our electric excavator stretches an impressive 3 kilometers, with each drum weighing a hefty 3 tonnes. Remarkably, the electric excavator operates so quietly that you can hear the pumps and air conditioning while it's in use! ?? #WomenInMining #ElectricDigger #westernaustralia
