Spotlight: Josh Bhate, COO of Bhate Geosciences & President of Building Diagnostics & Property Science We’re excited to highlight Josh Bhate, a cornerstone of our team at Bhate Geosciences and President of Building Diagnostics and Property Science. With a remarkable journey that began in 1991, Josh has played an integral role in our success. Josh graduated from Auburn University’s CADC program and initially worked alongside his father, Uday Bhate, the founder of Bhate Geosciences. He later established Building Diagnostics and Property Science, where his expertise shines. Josh fondly recalls inspecting the depths of a caisson at the Colonial Brookwood Center and tackling a complex issue at St. Vincent’s North Tower—solving a problem that had baffled experts for over a decade. He was also honored to serve as the Court Appointed Expert for Building Envelope concerns by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. Josh’s journey hasn’t been without challenges; he offers this advice from his experience: always pack enough clothes to avoid washing socks in the hotel sink during long depositions! When he’s not at work, you can find him cheering on his daughter at her activities or participating in thrilling adventures on dangerous internal combustion engines—whether on two wheels or four. One of Josh’s most cherished memories is a week-long white-water rafting trip through the Grand Canyon with his father in the 90s. His impressive accolades include being named one of Birmingham Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40 in 2020 and earning the Entrepreneur Spotlight in 2013. Fun fact: he got an early start in the field, working in Bhate’s soils lab at just 11 years old! Thank you, Josh, for your unwavering dedication to Bhate and BD&PS.
