XPRIZE together with CDL established the Carbon Removal prize — an ambitious $100 million initiative, funded by the Musk Foundation, aimed at combating climate change by rebalancing Earth’s carbon cycle. ?? The startups selected for this session are among the best in the world, working on groundbreaking solutions to pull carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere or oceans and sequester it durably and sustainably. Their work is critical for the future of our planet. An important study by Paul Gompers (Harvard University) and colleagues, analyzing 14,000 VC investments found that: ?? VC firms that increased their share of female partners by just 10% saw: ?? A 1.5% annual increase in fund returns ?? 9.7% more profitable exits ?? Last week, our U.S. advisor Patrick Beatty had the honor of attending a truly groundbreaking event—the launch of The MAPP rover aboard Lunar Voyage 1 to the Moon, a mission by our portfolio company Lunar Outpost. ???? The MAPP rover will explore uncharted lunar territories, collect invaluable data, and transport pioneering payloads from commercial, scientific, and research partners. Since launch, MAPP has already traveled over 200,000 miles, and soon, it will make its long-anticipated landing on the the Moon’s South Pole. We are eagerly looking forward to this historic moment! Beyond new connections, great discussions, and a shared vision for the future of deep tech and space, this gathering reinforced the strength of the APAC ecosystem in driving groundbreaking innovation.
