On a lazy Sunday afternoon, I came across a billboard strategically placed at a bustling intersection in Sandton. It caught my attention not just for its placement but for the brand dynamics at play. For context, MiWay and Naked are both insurance brands—one positioning itself around simplicity, the other around relevance. Yet, this particular ad made me chuckle. My first thought "Someone is angling for a fight here!" but beyond the humour, it sparked a deeper question: Which of these brands will consumers remember? And more importantly, will that be the same brand they choose? We’ve often discussed edutainment*, the idea that brands can educate while they entertain (a concept I fully support!). But in this case, one has to wonder: Who truly wins? So, if it were up to you, which brand would you choose and why? #Brands #Advertising

KFC Canada found a creative way to spread the word about closing times. ??? Since most of its 653 restaurants keep different closing hours - the OOH campaign turned the Colonel’s signature bolo tie into a clock. ??? Billboards and shopfront posters across cities like Toronto, Vancouver and Ottawa, featured the tie’s strings as clock hands, showing each restaurant’s exact closing time. ??Courage | KFC Canada
