  • In-Network vs. Out-of-Network: Why It Matters. Choosing the right doctor can impact your wallet! Here’s why: ? In-Network – Providers who have agreements with your insurance. This may mean lower costs, but it also means expenses will count towards your deductible and max out of pocket. ? Out-of-Network – No agreement = You may pay higher costs, especially if you haven’t met your deductible yet. Also, any costs you pay to an out of network provider may not count towards your deductible. Consumer protections exist for emergency situations but some vary by state. Check with your local representative if you have been surprised by bills from an emergency situation. Always check if your doctor is in-network before an appointment: it can save you hundreds. Have you ever been surprised by an out-of-network bill? Tell us in the comments!

  • Deductible vs. Copay vs. Coinsurance: Know the Difference. Health insurance terms can be confusing, but here’s a quick breakdown: ?? Deductible: What you pay before insurance kicks in ?? Copay: A fixed fee you pay for doctor visits or prescriptions ?? Coinsurance: The percentage you pay after meeting your deductible Understanding these can help you budget for healthcare costs. Which one confuses you the most? Tell us in the comments. #healthinsurance #insurance #insuranceknowledge

  • Max Out-of-Pocket vs. Max Benefit: What’s the Difference? ?? These terms seems to be similar, but they are very different. Let’s break them down, so you’re never caught off guard.? Max Out-of-Pocket: The most you’ll pay for covered healthcare in a plan year. These are common on major medical plans; what we commonly call health insurance. Max Benefit : The total amount an insurance plan will pay for covered services in a plan year. These are common on ancillary insurance plans such as dental insurance and vision insurance. One protects you, the other limits your coverage. Know the difference, plan wisely! It’s also important to remember that both only refer to “covered” services. Meaning if a particular service isn’t outlined in the plan, you may pay for it 100%, even if you’ve hit your max out of pocket or haven’t hit your max benefit. For example, some health insurance plans don’t cover chiropractic adjustments. If you have hit your max out of pocket and your plan doesn’t cover adjustments, you’ll still pay for them out of pocket. Another common example is adult ortho. Most dental plans don’t cover adult ortho, so this would be an expense you would have to pay for outside of your plan. #healthinsurance #insurance #insuranceknowledge

  • Maximize Your HSA Savings ??Part 2. A Health Savings Account (HSA) isn’t just for medical expenses, it's a powerful financial tool! Here’s a step by step guide on how to get the most out of it: ? Contribute the max ($4,300 individual / $8,550 family in 2025) ? Invest your funds to grow tax-free ?? ? Save receipts for future reimbursements ? Use it for retirement, after 65, reimburse yourself with previous expenses after your money has grown by interest. An HSA isn’t just for today, it’s a long-term wealth-building tool. What HSA questions do you have? #HSA #SmartSaving #Financialwellbeing?

  • HSA vs. FSA: What’s the difference? Both help you save on medical expenses tax-free, but they work differently: ?? HSA: Health Savings Accounts pair with High Deductible Health Plans. You must be enrolled in a HDHP to contribute to an HSA. Funds roll over each year, are portable (meaning they follow you if you leave your job or change coverage) & can be invested ??. Funds in an HSA can only be used as you accumulate them. ?? FSA: Flexible Spending Accounts often pair with PPO plans through an employer. Funds you’ve committed to an FSA do not roll over, or follow you if you leave a job where you had them. However, the entire amount you committed to contribute for the year is available immediately for use. ?? FSAs are sometimes limited use, such as only for dental and vision or with Dependent Care FSAs. If you want long-term savings & flexibility, HSA is the way to go. But if you need to cover short-term expenses, FSA may be a better option. What questions do you have about HSAs and FSAs that we can answer? ?? #HSA #FSA #FinancialWellness?
