    The Greatest VC investment in SA history: $32m to $175bn In 2001, a small team at Naspers, led by venture capitalist Antonie Roux, made a bet that changed history. They invested $32 million into a struggling Chinese startup called Tencent—a little-known messaging app with no revenue. Most investors ignored it. But Roux and his team saw what others didn’t: the potential of the internet in emerging markets. Fast forward: That $32 million became $175 billion - more than a 3000x return, one of the greatest VC bets in history. Hopefully the next big ROI investment in a company based in SA. These types of companies have an overwhelming positive impact on the economy. Some studies estimate 50% of net new jobs and 20% of economic growth come form high-growth startups. Any predications on South Africa's next unicorn startup?

    A person who will be mentoring at the #1 business school of the world - the Stanford Graduate School Of Business - we are bringing Tahreem Shah for an ECA Adda session on February 28th. She has been selected as a Visiting Impact Entreuprenuer to teach and mentor 70 students at Stanford GSB, students who are developing entreupreunerial ideas to create social positive change. She is also one of the top 50 youth leaders from the world to be selected for the Youth Delegate Program of the UNITE 2030, a program that empowers youth to work on the Sustainable Development Goals and create social change. Back in 2021, she was slo selected as a Yunus & Youth Global Fellow, one of the 39 entrepreneurs to be selected from 2698 applications form 130 countries. She has also been selected to be a part of Antler, the most active seed stage venture capital firm with a very low acceptance rate of 3-5% with more than 100000 applications every year!! For those who do not know about Antler, it is one of the best investing firms in the world which helps co-founders scale their start-ups to great levels! And even that’s not all about her! She is also the co-founder and COO of Scailr AI, an AI co-pilot developed to assist rising businesses, and she is also a Strateic Advisor for Bettre Institute.
