At BetterMynd, we are more than just a team—we're a community deeply committed to the well-being of every student we serve. This week, our team is coming together for a retreat filled with meaningful conversations, reflections, and plans for the future. It was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. We believe in synchronous conversations and care with a human on the other side. Every interaction we have is guided by this belief, ensuring that students feel seen, heard, and supported in real-time. As we continue to innovate and expand our reach, we're inspired by the resilience and strength of the students we serve. We're not just talking about mental health—we're changing the way it's addressed in higher education.

关于我们
BetterMynd partners with over 150 colleges and universities, including the University of Florida, Binghamton University, and the Los Rios Community College District, to extend the impact of their counseling services. Our flexible online mental health services – individual counseling, psychiatry, and 24/7 crisis and support line – are designed to meet the unique mental health needs of each student. We also advance health promotion through our live psycho-educational Wellbeing Workshops. What sets BetterMynd apart is a service model designed to provide equitable – not equal – support, alignment to each institution’s unique philosophy of care, and a session roll-over provision that prevents institutional resource waste. In all that we do, we remain rooted in our founder’s personal mental health journey as a student.

Our Cultivating Student Well-being roundtable was more than a discussion—it was a moment of connection, reflection, and shared purpose. Coming together just one day after the election, we recognized that while supporting student well-being is crucial, supporting each other as campus leaders is equally important. One participant beautifully put it: “It was refreshing for me to spend time in community with others who are trying to allow space for the campus to focus on these things as well.” Beyond the inspiring dialogue, attendees left with actionable strategies to bring back to their campuses. In this clip, our panelist, each representing unique roles across their institutions, discuss how they define and nurture well-being on their campuses: ?? Sherrá Watkins PhD, LCMHC-S, LCAS, CRC, CCS (University of Utah) describes a proactive, holistic “culture of care,” focusing on life satisfaction, flexibility, and equitable health practices. ?? Terry-Ann Jones (Lehigh University) highlights Lehigh’s comprehensive approach, addressing well-being across emotional, intellectual, environmental, financial, and social dimensions. ?? Josh Overocker, Ed.D. (University of Nebraska-Lincoln) discusses community-focused models, prioritizing prevention and accessible resources for all. Watch the clip to hear how these leaders are shaping environments where students—and each other—can thrive.

A new article from Inside Higher Ed sheds light on what students are really seeking when it comes to mental health and wellness on campus. Here are the key takeaways: ?? Flexible Mental Health Services: Today’s students need mental health support that’s accessible on their terms, with flexible, on-demand therapy options. Personalized care that fits around their busy schedules is a top priority. ?? Holistic Wellness: Beyond traditional counseling, students want services that support their overall well-being—think stress management workshops, mindfulness training, and peer support networks. They’re seeing mental health as part of a broader wellness journey. ?? Inclusive & Culturally Competent Care: Students are asking for support that reflects and respects diverse identities. Inclusive, culturally sensitive care isn’t just a preference; it’s essential. ?? Why This Matters: With 1 in 3 students experiencing anxiety and depression, demand for accessible, inclusive, and flexible support is only growing. Yet, barriers to accessing these services remain. We’re dedicated to meeting these evolving needs through our personalized online therapy, 24/7 crisis support, and Wellbeing Workshops. Every student deserves mental health care that’s tailored to them and meets them where they are—literally and figuratively. For more insights, check out the full article: https://lnkd.in/e2zCiUHS
