Yesterday, our Managing Director UK & Ireland, Darren Ransley, attended a lunch at the Slovenian Residence in London hosted by H.E. Sanja ?tiglic, the Slovenian Ambassador to the UK.????? The event was organised during the visit of Slovenia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, H.E. Tanja Fajon, to London. It brought together representatives of Slovenian companies in the UK and members of the VTIS Association ????. Discussions focused on promoting Slovenian excellence abroad, the importance of economic diplomacy, and exploring new opportunities for strengthening collaboration between Slovenia and the UK. ?? H.E. Sanja ?tiglic also attended the Better customer event we organised a month ago, where she stressed the importance of supporting innovation and strengthening economic ties between Slovenia and the UK. She also embraced the work Better is doing in the UK and around the world. “Companies like Better are at the forefront of digital transformation. Their hard work and innovation are earning them global recognition, and they are reshaping healthcare all over the world," she said. ?? She is a QA engineer in our Clinical team who, after studying organisational sciences, quickly realised her dream job was to be a QA engineer because she “truly enjoys reopening tasks for programmers”. ?? ?? "My motivation arises from the belief that a tester with a comprehensive understanding of the application’s entire operation can ensure better product quality and prepare and verify a wider range of potential test scenarios," she told us when asked about what has kept her motivated and passionate about her work in QA over the years. And what does she find most rewarding about working in healthcare IT? "When a customer expresses their gratitude in the nicest possible way." ?? Tatjana loves spending time in nature ???, reading a good book ??, and watching an engaging movie ??, and she says that there are still many challenges ahead for her team, so her motivation remains strong. The EuroHeart Project is using the power of open standards like openEHR to transform healthcare. With the Better Platform, the project will provide secure, standardised clinical data management, laying the foundation for future innovation and collaboration. This collaboration will improve the care pathway for myocardial infarction patients and serve as a cornerstone for digital healthcare transformation in Lithuania. ?? From an overview of openEHR, a presentation of Better Platform, its architecture, Better Meds, and Regional Meds, to cooperations and our work with partners and discussions about the role of AI in healthcare, plus an overview of some use cases, it was a really productive visit. ?? It was valuable to hear our partners' perspectives on our collaborations ??, and we are sure that together, we will manage to provide better care to many healthcare providers in Switzerland.????? ?? “The messaging through the course of this project has never been ‘Should we do it?’ but ‘Why haven’t we done it already?’” ? After a successful "big bang" rollout, we had the pleasure of speaking with Julia Scott, Associate Director of Clinical Quality Assurance and Innovation at Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust, about their experience with our medication management solution Better Meds. ?? ? Julia emphasised the role of numerous champions ?? across the trust who helped “bridge the gap between technical and clinical” and an “overwhelmingly positive” response to our ePMA. ?? When asked about their efforts to engage staff during the implementation, Julia shared a surprising notion – there was no real need to gain buy-in from clinicians: “Better Meds UI is highly intuitive and beautifully designed – it speaks for itself.” ? ?? Julia also shared how their shift to electronic prescribing aligns closely with the Trust’s vision and with recent NHS strategic shifts, and concluded with a meaningful advice to other NHS trusts: "Make sure a commitment to safety is the driving force behind the project."? ? ??
