Eventually, we all exit our business. Ideally that exit is on your own terms, particularly if you’re an owner. But don’t neglect that others have a stake in why, when and how you exit. After serving as a panelist in a well-attended presentation about exit planning, I reflected further on the importance of one’s values in thinking about the why, when and how. I trust you find this reflection helpful as you think about exits – yours and others. #exitplanning #successionplanning

Capitalism is flawed. Capitalism can become better. If either of those statements excites you, enjoy our book & message us to be part of constructive conversation. If either of those statements bothers you, we challenge you to take a breath & read a few chapters of our book - or at least the free preview! We appeal to your open-mindedness: be intellectually honest enough to read an unexpected perspective. Cato Institute review by Dr. Art Carden, Senior Fellow with the American Institute for Economic Research: "Better Capitalism is a sincere search for a better world." Walter Brueggemann, Columbia Theological Seminary: “This book plunges the reader right into the interface of theology (faith) and economics, exactly where thoughtful, responsible adults need to be situated in our crisis-marked world. ‘Plantation’ in their usage refers to a winner-take-all economics that exploits others for self-advantage. ‘Partnership’ concerns an economic practice of mutuality that contributes to the common good while attending to one’s own interest. This book merits close, sustained attention as a compelling move beyond both careless thinking and easy ideology.” Tony Reid, Senior Vice President (retired), Marriott International: "Better Capitalism is an eloquent and articulate reminder of the importance of understanding economics in the context of our communities, country, and roles as business leaders. In explaining the profound connection between economics and theology, the authors have provided a strong case for the critical need for partnership between business leaders and communities to create a stronger and more robust economy that provides benefit to all.” Rev. Dr. David Gushee, Past President of American Academy of Religion: "One of the things I like most about Better Capitalism is the way it shoots the gap between our current cultural extremes: it is by no means a defense of laissez-faire capitalism but neither is it a socialist manifesto."

Trust is fundamental to business. You know this. Trust is also fundamental to a well-run capitalism. You know this too but we all need reminders now and again. We could all also probably also use a reminder about the actual fate and legacy of Napoleon Bonaparte. #trust #capitalism #USMCA #leadership

Order-Disorder-Reorder is the rhythm of our lives, as well as systems like capitalism and politics. Perhaps it’s best to learn to identify this rhythm and work with it - like being out front to shape the reorder phase - rather than get too distracted by the disorder phase, no matter how uncomfortable it is. Remember the COVID Order-Disorder-Reorder?

We’re excited to share our first "Listen in Conversation" where we used AI to create an engaging conversation based on a blog post. This isn’t Paul and Aaron talking in a typical podcast, but close; it’s two avatars instructed on and accurately relating about the post. Pretty fascinating! As we were experimenting with idea and feature, America's 47th President was being sworn into Office. So, we chose an earlier government related post, which focuses on some dangerous misconceptions, some timeless truths, and a very promising path forward for all Americans. We’d love your feed back and comments on this new podcast like feature. ? We trust you enjoy listening. We also trust you receive both a fresh perspective of the role of our government and a renewed sense of our responsibilities for shaping the future we want to see.

Listen closely to many people when they talk about “the economy” and you quickly discover they’re referring to their own pocketbooks – their “personal economy.” That helps explain why these same people rigorously complain about the economy, when in fact the US economy has been the envy of the world for the past several years. It’s because they’re really railing about the decline in their individual spending power, which is the result of many factors. The price of groceries has been a campaign issue in recent elections across the country, including the presidential race. But can a US President – no matter who’s in office – meaningfully influence the factors that determine the cost of groceries and our personal economy? Read on for a better understanding and solutions to fixing the American Dream.?
