Our North Hills Manor Community is thriving with Healthy Hearts activities, and what better way to celebrate wellness than with a delicious and nutritious cooking class! ????? Residents came together to prepare a heart-healthy meal featuring: ?? Baked chicken – packed with lean protein ?? Potatoes & mixed vegetables – rich in fiber and essential nutrients ?? Pumpkin pie – because wellness includes balance and enjoyment! Our Orchard Apartments Community's After-School Program is honoring Black History Month by highlighting influential Black leaders who have shaped our culture and history. From inspiring figures like Althea Gibson, one of the first Black female tennis players, to many others who have paved the way, our walls are filled with stories of strength, perseverance, and excellence. ???? But learning goes beyond history—it’s about fostering understanding, respect, and unity in our everyday interactions. When a moment of misunderstanding arose between students, it became a powerful teaching opportunity about identity, kindness, and seeing beyond skin color. Using M&Ms ??, Social Services Coordinator, Christie Green, explored the idea that while we may look different on the outside, what truly matters is who we are on the inside. Through learning, writing fun facts, and creating beautiful artwork, our young residents are embracing the richness of Black history and culture.
