Recently, I was privileged to witness the brilliant performances and artistry of Japanese calligrapher Ebihara Rogen, and principal bassoon, Daniel Matsukawa, of the The Philadelphia Orchestra This was a press event and tree gifting ceremony in celebration of the 2024 Philadelphia Cherry Blossom Festival, one of the largest and most prolific of cherry blossom festivals on the east coast of America. The trees are a gift from JASGP (Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia) sponsored by PHLY Foundation and will be planted with hundreds of additional trees in Philadelphia in 2026 to commemorate our country’s 250th anniversary. Thank you to Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation, Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia and Jacqueline McBreen from Hoopla for allowing me to photograph this event for the promotion of the festival’s centerpiece event, Sakura Weekend - this weekend!
