The physical, mental, and financial toll of the recent wildfires cannot be overstated. The last thing anyone should have to worry about is navigating countless agency websites to find their next steps. Our new LA Disaster Relief Navigator helps Angelenos impacted by the fires access tailored resources and plan for recovery, including: ?Access to government programs ?Insurance assistance ?Home damage remediation ?Temporary & permanent housing solutions ?Cash grants ?Local community services Click here to access the navigator: https://lnkd.in/gy43vMkQ “Angelenos are continuing to navigate grief and shock. My commitment is to do everything we can to get people the help they need as conveniently as possible,” Mayor Bass said. “The Disaster Recovery Centers have already helped more than 5,000 families get help in person, and now the LA Disaster Relief Navigator will help Angelenos get help wherever they are.” The Navigator is a collaborative effort between the Mayor’s Fund, Mayor Karen Bass, Better Angels, and Imagine LA with support from the Annenberg Foundation and the R&S KAYNE FOUNDATION. The Mayor’s Fund is committed to ensuring all Angelenos have the resources they need to recover and rebuild, stronger and better than before.

Thank you to the Los Angeles Times for reporting on the launch of the LA Disaster Relief Navigator, an online tool designed to support Angelenos impacted by the recent wildfires. In partnership with Imagine LA, Mayor's Fund for Los Angeles , and the Office of Mayor Karen Bass, Better Angels created this resource to help individuals and families navigate the many forms of assistance available, including federal, state, and local aid, insurance claims, housing solutions, and income loss mitigation. This morning, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass issued a press release announcing the launch of the LA Disaster Relief Navigator, which was developed by Better Angels and Imagine LA in partnership with the Mayor's Fund for Los Angeles. The Navigator is an online tool that helps fire-impacted Angelenos effectively navigate the many resources available to them as a result of losses from the recent wildfires. Last weekend, volunteers joined Skyh Black and KJ Smith Black to support recovery efforts for those impacted by the recent wildfires. ?? In partnership with the Los Angeles Mission , we served the Pasadena community, providing direct relief and distributing cash grants to those in need. Huge thanks to Los Angeles Mission , PepsiCo, NEW REVELATION BAPTIST CHURCH, and Mt Sinai Baptist Church LA for making this essential event possible.

The fires in LA this past week have been devastating. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been upended by the merciless wildfires that have impacted so many homes, businesses, and institutions in our beloved Los Angeles communities. Along with the heroic first responders from LA and beyond who have fought tirelessly, our community is also mobilizing to help address some urgent needs. I wanted to highlight two organizations that have stepped up to meet this moment: ? Better Angels, where I am CEO, is an organization dedicated to solving LA’s homelessness epidemic, and we are particularly concerned about the impact of this tragedy on the most vulnerable Angelenos. To help ensure these people are supported through the recovery process, Better Angels has created an Emergency Assistance Fund to help low income families who have lost their homes due to the fires.
