We had an outstanding experience at our Introduction to Senior Care event, featuring David Abraham, President & CEO of Beth Sholom Village! The audience’s engagement was truly remarkable, and we were thrilled to provide 1:1 tailored feedback to those in attendance. A huge thank you to our valued partners, Alperin Law, Marcia Futterman Brodie, and the Alzheimer's Association, for making this event another great success. Together, we're committed to empowering caregivers and supporting our community.

We were recently made aware of a significant financial need at Meals On Wheels of Chesapeake Inc., a lifeline for many seniors in our community. With our mission to be a community resource, we knew we had to step in and assist in any way we could. After a few phone calls and the incredible support of our community at large, we are proud to announce that we were able to raise $40,000 to keep this critical service going strong. We always strive to honor our father and mother, and we are grateful to have been a resource in helping to care for our seniors in need.

We were honored to participate in Neptune's Senior Gala, hosted by the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival last night! It was a wonderful evening celebrating our senior community and sharing information about two of our cherished initiatives: Aviva Pembroke, Hampton Roads’ premier senior living community opening this fall, and the Hospice House of Hampton Roads providing compassionate end-of-life care. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect and share our mission of serving seniors with dignity and care.

Our second Caring Connections event was a huge success! We were thrilled to join forces with our amazing partners Alperin Law, MarciaTrains.com, and the Alzheimer's Association to bring valuable awareness to caregivers on identifying and addressing common dementia-related behaviors. A special thanks to Douglas Panto, the Community Manager for the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, for his insightful presentation! Our team had a meaningful morning participating in the City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services' Elder Abuse Awareness Walk at Mt. Trashmore. Together, we walked to raise awareness and support the fight against elder abuse.

It's that time of year for those who like to get outside, take some steps, and enjoy the beauty of Hampton Roads in the summer. For Beth Sholom Village and Jewish Family Service of Tidewater, it is always that time to support vulnerable populations through our year round service and care made possible by way of our generous donors and volunteers. There is no better way to demonstrate our commitment than through participation, and we were pleased to see members of our staff, Board of Directors, loyal donor base, and many partner organizations present, and who made this years' Run, Roll, or Stroll fundraiser event a success.
