Families regularly fall into the "invisible homeless" category because they bounce around--often for years--before seeking help. Most parents in Bethany House are working and still unable to afford housing. Bethany House keeps families together and helps them find safe, affordable housing. The working homeless situation is not easing up, but at Bethany House, we help as many as we can. #InvisibleHomeless #FamilySupport #AffordableHousing #CommunitySupport #HousingAssistance #EndHomelessness

Major Lee Zeigler was an Black entrepreneur who founded Major Savings and Loan in 1922. At the time, Savings and Loans were the primary savings institutions for most people. The Federal Housing Administration encouraged the practice of “red lining” which designated certain neighborhoods, predominately black, as declining or blighted and therefore unsafe for mortgage lending. Major Federal Savings and Loan was the longest-lived African American savings and loan in Cincinnati, operating in Walnut Hills from 1921 until 1986. #blackhistorymonth #bethanyhouseservices #AfricanAmericanHistory #Redlining #CincinnatiHistory

There continues to be a housing crisis in Greater Cincinnati and across the community. If 4000 HUD employees lose their jobs, this could be devastating for the families Bethany House serves. We receive significant support from HUD to help families living in shelter and in our housing programs. #2025 #housingcrisis #homelessness
