Last week, our founder, Amber Stryker, attended Trellis Group’s #GreenBiz25, where industry leaders gathered to discuss the future of sustainable business. Here are her top takeaways from the event -- insights you won’t want to miss!
?? My top 3 learnings from GreenBiz 25 ?? I've had a few days to collect my thoughts (and get some rest) after the sprint of GreenBiz. Of course, the best part was connecting with people in person! But there was also incredible learning. Here are the topics that resounded most for me: 1?? Investors still care about climate risk Banks and investment firms may be pulling out of public commitments like the Net Zero Banking Alliance, but that doesn’t mean they’re ignoring climate risk. Behind the scenes, ESG ratings remain a useful tool for investment decisions. The takeaway? Long-term profitability still depends on mitigating transition risks. 2?? Risk is systematically underpriced Sustainability leaders see this daily as they budget for climate adaptation, and investors agree. The question isn’t if these risks will materialize, but when. Is your company ready for inevitable shocks? 3?? Transition plans strengthen stakeholder alignment Assessing climate risk is just step one. A strong transition plan built with internal partners doesn’t just mitigate risk, it creates allies who can champion sustainability in their respective areas. Thank you to amazing speakers and sessions - I wish I could have gone to all of them! What a treat to connect with fellow Girls Club Collective members like: Emily B., Charlie Reed, Sam Hartsock, Selena Evans, Danielle Azoulay And Reconsidered Change Hub members: Chris Gaither, Kim Buncle, Lara Birkes, Mike Schwartz, Noemí Jiménez And so many other connections that I can't even list them here! I've never enjoyed a full day of social activity (9am-midnight ???? ) more than at GreenBiz! Thanks Trellis Group!!
