Leib Litman, PhD — founder and Chief Research Officer at CloudResearch, Professor of Psychology at NYC — is joining our workshop series, part of the Fall Semester Gift program! This phenomenon, originating from various locations globally, including India, Bangladesh, and other countries, has led to widespread misinformation on topics such as teen behavior, COVID-19, and political polarization. A highlight of the talk will feature video interviews with fraudulent respondents from organized survey farms, illustrating the nature of this problem. Namrata Goyal, Assistant Professor at Ramon Llull University, Esade Business School, with a project exploring cultural differences in moral absolutism vs. relativism, and how these moral positions influence citizens' preferences for banning actions they personally consider immoral. ?? Christie Scollon, Associate Professor at Western Washington University, with a project extending the findings of Koh, Scollon, & Wirtz (2013) by investigating how South and Latin Americans cognitively organize their emotions compared to European American and Asian samples. We're proud to announce that our Research Coordinator, Silvana D'Ottone, has successfully defended her doctoral dissertation with the maximum distinction ?? In her research, Silvana developed an instrument to measure partisan moral reasoning and tight moral reasoning, two forms of evaluating moral transgressions in political settings. Her research also shows ways to dampen support for politicians involved in severe transgressions, like corruption. Congratulations! ?? ?? ??

? The second peer-reviewed article using Besample data has been published! The authors are Catherine Salmon and Jessica Hehman, professors at the University of Redlands ???? The article explores cultural and sex differences in perceptions of sexually explicit images. Unlike previous studies focused on U.S. participants, this research compares previous U.S. findings with samples from the Philippines and Brazil. The authors measured perceptions using surveys that assessed individual and cultural factors, such as religiosity, sexual orientation, and sociosexuality. The findings indicate that the factors influencing perceptions vary by culture: participant and stimuli-related variables are more significant in the Philippines, while individual differences play a larger role in Brazil.
