关于我们
Founded in 2015, Berry Good Food is a grassroots nonprofit organization that aims to tackle the barriers—educational, economic, systemic, infrastructural—standing between people in our region and local, sustainably produced food. We educate, connect and support our food community through a variety of programs and events like affordable cooking classes, expert panel discussions, school garden grants, and farm-to-table dinners. We empower our community by building bridges between farmers, chefs, scientists, and citizens to challenge the industrial food system while advocating for access to healthy food for all. We strengthen our local, regenerative, and sustainable food system by partnering with mission-aligned organizations to deepen our regional impact.

#GrowingAFoodMovement can be tough especially when there are critters competing with us for access to nutrient dense, whole foods! Luckily, we’ve installed Gardener's Supply Company crop coops to keep our harvests going strong!

We appreciate JR Organics Farm for hosting the restaurant teams from Herb & Sea, Animae, Le Coq, and Herb & Wood at an unforgettable, picture perfect farm tour! #GrowingAFoodMovement

Ringing in the Lunar New Year with lucky ingredients at our UCSD Craft Center cooking class! Did you know… ??Lettuce- In Chinese and Cantonese, a word for leafy greens sounds a lot like a word for becoming wealthy. ??Rice Cakes- Nian gao symbolizes progress, advancement, and growth. Nián means “year,” and “gāo” means, “tall,” “high,” or “expensive.” ??Pomelo- Pomelos ripen just before the Lunar New Year as families gather for the holiday so they're closely associated with family unity. Similarly, the Mandarin word for pomelo—youzi—sounds similar to the word for “have,” thus inviting prosperity. #GrowingAFoodMovement

The chilly weather may not be everyone’s favorite, but our community garden partners know that the cooler temperatures mean great broccoli and cauliflower harvests are on their way! #GrowingAFoodMovement
