#GrowingAFoodMovement is for all ages! Just look how vibrant the community garden space is looking at the Golden Age Apartments. Since building out the garden just this past Spring, residents have successfully grown potatoes, strawberries, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, herbs and flowers.
关于我们
Founded in 2015, Berry Good Food is a grassroots nonprofit organization that aims to tackle the barriers—educational, economic, systemic, infrastructural—standing between people in our region and local, sustainably produced food. We educate, connect and support our food community through a variety of programs and events like affordable cooking classes, expert panel discussions, school garden grants, and farm-to-table dinners. We empower our community by building bridges between farmers, chefs, scientists, and citizens to challenge the industrial food system while advocating for access to healthy food for all. We strengthen our local, regenerative, and sustainable food system by partnering with mission-aligned organizations to deepen our regional impact.

Growing your own food is like printing your own money. Except when you "print money" like this, you don't dilute value – you distill it in: ? ???????????????? ???????? ????????: each plant you grow is packed with nutrients, offering more value than anything you can buy in a store. Nutrient density drops precipitously upon harvest; by the time you pick produce up at the grocery store, it's not nearly as good for you. ? ???????? ??????????????: food prices at the grocery store are only going up. Not to mention, when you grow your own food, you'll spend less on supplements because your diet is naturally richer in nutrients. ? ???????????? ????????????????: spending time in the garden reduces stress, provides a bit of a workout, grounds you with the Earth, and improves mental clarity. ? ???????? ?????????? ???????? ?????????? ????????: there is nothing like an evening outside in the garden with friends and family, and then enjoying the fruits and vegetables of your shared work. In ????????????, Henry David Thoreau questioned the idea of working day in and day out just to pay for a train ticket. He argued that you might as well just walk, as you'll get to your destination all the same and you'll get a lovely stroll out of it. The same principle applies here... Why spend more money and energy buying food that’s less nutritious when you can grow your own, enjoy the process, heal the land, and reap a richer reward? My gardening journey started with a single potato. How is yours going to start?
