The Berkshire Innovation Center ("BIC") is a collaborative initiative between private industry, academia, and government. The BIC's mission is to expand the innovation capacity and growth potential of private industry by providing advanced capabilities to manufacturers in the Berkshires and surrounding area - primarily small and medium sized companies (and startups) in advanced manufacturing, life sciences, the life sciences supply chain, and technology. The goal is to enable and accelerate the growth of the manufacturing sector with the ultimate objective of spurring economic growth, job creation and retention, and investment in the region. Through LinkedIn, the BIC will provide news, updates, invitations to upcoming events, and encourage connections with potential members, partners, and users of the Berkshire innovation Center.

Dennis Rebelo, Ph.D. is a true master in helping you understand your journey. His book ' Story Like You Mean It' gave many valuable insights in understanding our journeys for me and my ELI cohort members. When I was struggling to summarize and compress my Girlscouts speech to fit the timing needs Dennis Rebelo, Ph.D. came to my rescue. He very graciously helped me out even when it was last minute. Our Chief Learning Officer Dennis Rebelo, Ph.D. has a Story Vault. It's an actual vault. And from within that vault, we'll be launching a new #Podcast series starting in January 2025. Here are a few words from Dr. D about the show, from a recent article in the Berkshire Business Journal: "I now have a vault and I guess it’s mine to do something with, something of value. I decided the answer was to bring key contributors to the BIC into the vault to do what I’ve been doing for years, to unpack the power of story from people’s lives and synthesize their stories to their work in the Berkshires community. "Ben Sosne and I have decided to host 50 individuals at BIC Works on the campus of MASS MoCA. These invitees will be individuals who are paramount to the work we share at the Berkshire Innovation Center. Through long form dialogue - in the vault of course - their motivations, key life moments, and current rationale for working #InTheBerkshires will become center stage. We call the education we do at the BIC “learning in the fringe” because it's a space in between the higher ed and industry. These conversations are part of that work." On Monday, FFIO Director Quentin Palfrey joined local officials and community leaders in City of Pittsfield to discuss how the Healey-Driscoll administration can support local governments with bringing in more federal funding. We were thrilled to meet with leaders from all across Berkshire County to share information on resources available to them and hear about their federal funding needs and priorities.
