Firestone, Heath, OH, Automotive At our Firestone Tires project in Heath, OH, we have advanced steadily through the steel erection phase. Using an articulating boom lift, we’re setting steel joists and beams to form the building’s structure. The front-end loaders are finishing the grading in the parking lot, ensuring the site is ready for the next steps before the concrete is poured. Roofing crews are preparing the roof by laying down foam and insulation board in advance of the final roofing material. Meanwhile, our carpenters are constructing the parapet wall and exterior framing. Up next, we'll be installing plywood sheathing on the exterior and framing the building's interior. Royal Farms, Port Royal, Virginia, Automotive ? Berks Construction Group worked the night shift to complete the asphalt at the Royal Farms in Port Royal, Virginia. Berks chose to work off hours rather than lose any time on the project because of how busy the asphalt plants currently are in Virginia due to many public roads being paved. More than 700 tons of asphalt was laid overnight,?from the front entrance to the entire parking lot, with a base layer of aggregate compacted before a 16-foot paver spread the asphalt. A CAT roller followed to compact it all down smoothly. ? Next is grading and topsoil for all sod. The interior finishes are underway along with kitchen equipment installations, and fuel wiring for the pumps. ?
