I wanted to highlight this awesome program that helps undergraduates, who might not necessarily think of themselves as innovators, to engage in our robust UC Berkeley Innovation & Entrepreneurship ecosystem by gamifying the experience: The SCET Innovation Fellows 12-week program, taking place each fall semester, is designed as a self-paced game to encourage students from across campus to push themselves out of their comfort zone and grow by engaging in new innovation experiences and competitions, skills based activities, networking events, and challenges posed by alumni, industry, campus departments, student groups and labs. This program targets first and second year students who may not have thought of themselves as innovators to engage them in the entrepreneurship and innovation campus ecosystem early in their academic journey, grow their innovation mindset, and expand their networks. Great to see Chancellor Rich Lyons remind us this morning while kicking off the Innovative Genomics Institute's "Inside IGI Climate" conference. The IGI is a powerhouse for creating long-term societal benefits in human health, climate and ag tech, and more. So proud the IGI is part of Berkeley.
